| Mr. Mays grew up in Michigan, well known as the automotive capital of the world. Since his early teens he has been fascinated with classic autos, hot rods and the automotive industry. During his formative high school and college years, he rebuilt, modified and customized numerous General Motors and Ford vehicles. This experience gave him the appreciation of design, maintainability, performance, tools, equipment and special tooling required to do a job properly. After being honorably discharged from the USAF he joined the Hughes Aircraft Company in 1976. Hughes, at that time, was one of the largest aerospace and defense companies in the world. During his tenure of twenty-nine (29) plus years in the aerospace and defense industry he held many positions that have shaped JTM's Hot Rod Shop. Positions held include technician, field engineering representative and advanced development systems engineer. Additionally, he was a program manager of customer support and manufacturing product lines and conducted annual business sales of ten to forty-eight (10 to 48) million dollars per year. Mr. Mays’ strong suits are derived from an integration of his engineering and program management background with his experiences that focus on customer support and product and program planning. |
